Breastfeeding is natural, but not always intuitive. Come to this class and get ready to tap into your intuitive mothering instincts and learn about the innate behaviors of newborns. We will discuss how to breastfeed in the first hour after birth, recognize a good latch, avoid common issues that come up in the first days and weeks, identify feeding cues, how to find positions for nursing that work for you, know if baby is getting enough and much, much more. This comprehensive breastfeeding class is led by Rachel Simpson, mother of three, La Leche League Leader, Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant, MA Breast-feeding Coalition member and Board Member of the NHP Member Advisory Board. Rachel has a passion for nutrition so she can provide you with resources for nourishing yourself and your child before, during and after the baby phase. All questions will be answered so write them down and bring them in to discuss! Partners are encouraged to attend.
